The B.A.R.D.S. is the Baalbec Actively Retired Drama Society. The BARDS is open to all and meets on Tuesdays at the Friars’ gate Theatre from 10am -12pm.
The project is funded by the VEC and Limerick County Arts Office and is free for participants.
No previous drama experience is necessary.
The two hour weekly workshops encourage fun and creative expression through movement, voice, memories, storytelling and drama techniques. They revolve around the premise that creativity is ageless and challenge stereotypes.
There is a tea/coffee break during the session that will allow participants to chat in an informal manner and create new social contacts within the group.
Drama games are fun and interactive. The expression of thoughts and feelings in the safe, fictional world of drama is empowering.
The programme is flexible to allow the group to have ownership of the project and follow creative leads where they are expressed.
